Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate, Inc., well known for its relentless pursuit of tenant satisfaction, is a company focused on excellence. One of the premier Midwest retail real estate developers, Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate, Inc. specializes in Leasing, Development, Construction and Management.

Privately owned and headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate, Inc. is a reflection of its Founder, CEO and President, Jeffrey R. Anderson. A 50-year resident of Cincinnati, Jeff attended the University of Virginia as a scholar athlete, graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree. A fifth round draft selection in the National Football League (NFL) draft, led to a brief career with the Washington Redskins. Leaving football behind, Jeff reported to basic training at the US Army facilities in Ft. Lewis, Washington and returned home to serve in the Ohio National Guard and pursue a career in the real estate industry.

In the early 70’s, under the tutelage of Dave Thomas, Jeff focused his career on site selection for various clients in the restaurant industry including Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Long John Silvers and many others. Having developed a reputation within the restaurant community as an outstanding site selection specialist, Jeff took his talents to Chi Chi’s Restaurants in 1976.

After executing several successful sale/lease back transactions, Jeff was named Director of Real Estate for Chi Chi’s Restaurants in 1978. For his contribution to the company’s growth, and as the franchiser of Chi Chi’s Restaurants along the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, Jeff and his investment group earned a 20% interest in Chi Chi’s public stock. After selling his Chi Chi’s interest back to the company in 1985, Jeff left to focus his efforts on building his own company.

Since the mid-80’s, Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate, Inc. has built its reputation into a relationship-driven, award-winning retail developer with nearly eight 10million square feet of development in its portfolio. Beginning with un-anchored neighborhood retail centers, the east side of Cincinnati is sprinkled with Anderson projects including Hyde Park Station, Anderson Station, City Station and Beechmont Station. In the early 90’s Anderson moved onto larger projects, developing several regional retail centers anchored by national credit tenants including Wal-Mart, bigg’s (Super Valu), Steinmart, TJMaxx, HomeGoods and Dillard’s Home Store. Cincinnati regional projects include Harpers Station, Alexandria Village Green, Union Centre Pavilion, Rookwood Pavilion and Kenwood Pavilion.

In 1999, the opportunity arose to develop a cutting-edge retail concept in the Cincinnati market – the Lifestyle Center. Melding this unique concept with his site selection expertise and a “walk the talk” track record with tenants, Anderson opened Rookwood Commons to rave reviews in August 2000. As one of the first developers in the country to embrace the concept of alternative retail formats, Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate, Inc. continues to pioneer Lifestyle and Mixed-use projects around the country, incorporating multi-family, hospitality and office uses with select retail concepts.

In addition to commercial real estate development, Jeff is very active in the hospitality arena, and owning more than a dozen restaurants throughout the coastal areas of the South. The Company's growing hotel portfolio inlcudes Marriott-branded properties as well as self-developed boutique concepts. Aside from his own developments, Jeff is routinely sought after for his expertise as a consultant and investor in various restaurant enterprises.

In addition to developing Company-owned projects, Anderson is often hired by other Owners for specific expertise including Leasing, Tenant Coordination, and Property Management. Anderson Third Party assignments range in scope, depth and length, depending on the clients' needs, and has included high-profile Cincinnati projects like The Banks, Kenwood Collection, Newport on The Levee, USquare at University of Cincinnati, and University Station at Xavier University. Additional Third Party assignments have included sites around the USA including Minneapolis, Lexington, Tennessee, and Hawaii.

Supporting his relentless pursuit of excellence, Jeff has assembled a dedicated and loyal team of partners and employees who share his vision, commitment and “do it now” philosophy. Operating with a capable, lean staff, Jeff applies his “buy the best” theory of real estate to those whom he employs – he simply “hires the best”.

Jeff welcomes the opportunity to give back to the Cincinnati community through financial support and by serving on several boards of directors, steering panels and philanthropic committees. Mr. Anderson and his wife, Darlene Tranter Anderson, live in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Andersons have two sons, JR and Anders, and four grandchildren. Jeff’s oldest son, JR, serves as Vice President of Development for the Company. Jeff’s younger son, Anders, serves as Managing Director of Strategic Investments.
